FivePoint executive Carla Fansmith (pictured above with her sons Alex and Nick) was among the more than 500 guests to attend and show their support for the Blind Children’s Learning Center’s third annual Vision Beyond Sight gala on February 27, 2020.

Through ticket sales, a live fundraiser and sponsors like FivePoint, the event raised nearly $250,000 to advance the nonprofit’s mission of preparing visually impaired children for a life of independence through early intervention, education and family support.

Guests quickly came to appreciate the difficulties facing the visually impaired as they temporarily donned blindfolds and dined in a darkened room at the Marconi Automotive Museum. When the blindfolds came off, guests were entertained and inspired by Kodi Lee, an alumnus of the nonprofit and the 2019 champion of “America’s Got Talent.”

FivePoint initially learned of the event through executive Mike Alvarado, whose mother serves on the Blind Children’s Learning Center’s board.
