When a wildfire started along the Foothill Transportation Corridor (241) and adjacent to FivePoint’s Great Park Neighborhoods in Irvine on October 26, 2020, firefighters responded immediately as police evacuated nearby residents.

Although the Silverado wildfire blackened more than 12,000 acres – with gusty and unpredictable Santa Ana winds further complicating the effort – firefighters prevented any loss of life. Thousands of nearby homes were protected from fire, and damage was minimal. As of November 7, when officials announced the blaze was 100% contained, two firefighters who had battled the fire remained in critical condition.

To show appreciation for their tireless and heroic efforts, FivePoint is adding a ‘Thank You Firefighters” message containing the Orange County Fire Authority logo to its 20-foot sign visible off the northbound 5 Freeway starting Nov. 14 until month’s end (pictured above).

During a year that has been marked by COVID-19, we have gained an even deeper appreciation for the efforts of first responders who risk their lives to protect others. Thank you, firefighters!
