The new Santa Clarita Senior Center that opened in 2019 has become a hub of activity and improved services for the tight-knit community in the valley. Art classes, meditation and chair yoga are just a few of the activities offered. There are T’ai Chi Ch’uan classes offered on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, and don’t forget Boot Scootin’ with Sally, the line dancing class.

The new senior center is named Bella Vida, and has a simple mission: enhance the quality of life for older adults. FivePoint supported the new senior center with a six-figure donation and pledge to cover developer fees for the construction.

The 30,000-square-foot, two-story building is three times larger than the previous senior center. It’s located on 2.5 acres of land and includes a fitness and dance studio offering health and wellness classes and activities, an outdoor cabana with concert seating, six multipurpose rooms and a library. There’s also an event and banquet hall that seats more than 250. That’s where civic leaders and local luminaries will serve the seniors and guests at the annual Celebrity Waiter Dinner fundraiser on Feb. 29.
