Scholarship Fundraiser Honors Veterans’ Sacrifices

Military service requires sacrifice – and not just by the men and women in uniform, but their families as well.

For many service members, the cost of higher education simply outpaces the average family income. Providing military families with greater access to affordable education is a practical and much-needed way to make a difference for men and women in uniform who have given so much of themselves to protect our freedoms.

It is why FivePoint joins many other institutions and individuals within the Orange County community each year in supporting the West Coast Awards Dinner. Hosted by the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, the gala at Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach honors the historic service of our World War II veterans, while also looking to the future in recognizing and hearing from student scholarship recipients.

Jason Kesler, the 2019 Student Speaker, is among the grateful scholarship beneficiaries.

“I would not be in such a strong position to succeed were it not for the support from the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and the investors that have given so generously to make sure that Marine sons and daughters are able to pursue higher education and grow into the leaders of tomorrow,” Kesler said.

Since 1962, Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation has been investing in the next generation of leaders. Nearly 40,000 Marine Scholars have gone on to put Honor, Courage, and Commitment to work in their communities.
