One of the nation’s largest and most prestigious competitions for architects, planners, builders and developers honored FivePoint’s joint venture, Heritage Fields El Toro, LLC, and its collaborators with three Gold Nugget Awards, including Community of the Year award for excellence in design, planning and development within its Great Park Neighborhoods community in Irvine.
The honors were announced July 24 as part of the Gold Nugget Awards, an annual competition that recognizes achievements in community and home design, green-built housing, site planning, commercial, retail, mixed-use development and specialty housing categories. Winners this year were announced during a virtual ceremony and chosen from 575 entries from around the world.
FivePoint’s joint venture (Heritage Fields) received awards in the following housing and community-related categories:
- Community of the Year: Great Park Neighborhoods (Gold Nugget—winner)
- Best Landscape Architecture for a Community: Great Park Neighborhoods (Gold Nugget—winner
- Best Indoor/Outdoor Lifestyle for a Community: Great Park Neighborhoods (Gold Nugget—winner)
The Gold Nugget Awards are the latest honors for excellence in design, architecture and planning within Great Park Neighborhoods, which has received more than 100 honors since the community’s first neighborhood, Pavilion, opened in 2013. FivePoint’s joint venture (Heritage Fields) won its first Gold Nugget Award for Pavilion at the 2014 awards ceremony.
In its 57th year, the Gold Nugget Awards are part of the Pacific Coast Builders Conference, the largest homebuilding tradeshow representing the west coast region. It is the official show of the membership-based Leading Builders of America (LBA) and is sponsored by the California Building Industry Association (CBIA), which represents thousands of homebuilders, developers, trade contractors, architects, engineers, designers, suppliers and other industry professionals.
